Configure Azure ADLS Gen2 Storage
Follow these steps to configure your Azure ADLS Gen2 Storage
In the DataBee UI, go to System > Data Lakes > Iceberg and select Azure ADLS Gen2 from the available options.



Before completing the configuration wizard, ensure you have the following Azure resources ready:
Create a Storage Account: Create a storage account under a resource group (example: databeetest2 under DataBee-Test-Resource-Group).
Important:
Enable Hierarchical namespace during creation as this cannot be enabled later.

Create a Blob Container: Create a blob container inside the storage account (example: databeetestcontainer2). Verify creation by navigating to Storage account > Storage browser > Blob containers.

Add a directory to the Blob container: Click on the blob container and add a directory. This directory name will used to populate the Storage Path Prefix field in the configuration wizard.

Obtain Tenant ID: Get your Tenant ID by opening Microsoft Entra ID.

Complete the configuration wizard by filling in:
Tenant ID
Storage Account Name
ADLS Gen2 Container Name
Storage Path Prefix
Click Next to proceed.

Configure DataBee Catalog Permissions
Follow these steps to ensure DataBee’s Iceberg Catalog can access your Azure Application and Storage.
Review the configuration instructions displayed on the second page of the config wizard on DataBee UI.

Open the consent URL shown in the first instruction and click the Accept button.
After accepting consent, verify that your created application appears under Enterprise applications.


Navigate to your storage account and set the External ID tag:
Go to Storage browser > Blob containers.
Click the three dots menu on the right side of your container.
Select Edit metadata.
Add the DATABEE_EXTERNAL_ID tag with the External ID value shown in the wizard.
Save the changes.


Configure the required permissions for DataBee Catalog:
Open Access Control (IAM) for the Storage account.
Click Add role assignment.

Select the Storage Blob Data Contributor role. This role grants read and write access to the DataBee Catalog.
Choose the DataBee Catalog application, click the Select button, then click Review and assign
Continue clicking Next until you reach the Review + assign page.

Choose the DataBee catalog application, click the Select button, then click Review + assign.




Click the Save button in the wizard on DataBee UI.
You can safely click the Back button while the backend process completes (this takes a few minutes).
