Xensam

Xensam is an IT asset management (ITAM) platform that helps organizations discover, inventory, and manage hardware and software assets across their IT environment. It provides comprehensive visibility into asset usage, software licensing, and compliance to support effective IT asset lifecycle management. Integration Method: API

Tables: Device Inventory Info (5001), Software Inventory Info (5020)

This integration supports the following events.

Prerequisites

  • Xensam Access to create API Account and API key.

  • The user should have access to the DataBee console.

Configuration Overview

  1. Generate an API account using Xensam UI and then create API key with Viewer Access.

  2. Add the Xensam in the DataBee console with the below parameters.

    Username

    Email of the API account

    Password

    Password of the API account

    API Key

    APi key created using API account

    Token URL

    Token Auth URL to generate API session (https://<tenant>api.xupervisor.com:444/api/v2/user/session)

DataBee Configuration

  1. Login to the DataBee UI, navigate to Data > Data Feeds and click the Add New Data Feed button.
     

  2. Search for the Xensam and click it as shown below.
     

  3. Click on the API Ingest option for collection method.
     

  4. Enter feed contact information and scroll down.
     

  5. In the configuration page, confirm the following:

    • API Base URL: The base URL of the Xensam API used by DataBee to communicate with your Xensam instance. Replace <tenant> with Xensam tenant name (for example, https://testapi.xupervisor.com:444, where test is the tenant's name.)

    • Authorization Method: Token URL Auth

    • Token URL: The URL used by DataBee to generate a session token using the Xensam API account credentials. Replace <tenant> with Xensam tenant name (e.g. https://testapi.xupervisor.com:444/api/v2/user/session, where test is the tenant's name.)

    • API Key: API key created through Xensam API account

    • Username: Email of the Xensam API account

    • Password:  Password of the Xensam API account

    • Event Types: Preselected for all the event types that integration pulls.
       

  6. Click Submit and then click Submit & Deploy to Production in the confirmation pop up.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure the API key belongs to the added credentials API account i.e. email and password.

  • Ensure the API key has the Xensam Viewer Access.
