Bamboo HR

BambooHR is a cloud-based HR platform that centralizes employee data and automates HR tasks. It streamlines hiring, onboarding, payroll, and benefits management. For detailed information refer to the BambooHR official documentation.

Integration Method: API

Prerequisites

• The user should have access to the BambooHR portal.

• The user should have access to the DataBee console.

Configuration Overview

1. Generate an API Key after logging in to BambooHR console.

2. Add the BambooHR data feed  integration in the DataBee console with the required API username and password.

BambooHR Configuration

1. Navigate to BambooHR login page. On this page, you'll be prompted to enter your BambooHR domain name and enter Continue.

   

2. Enter your ‘Username’ and ‘password’ and click on the Log In.

   

3. In the bottom left, click the small BambooHR icon.
    
   

4. Click on API Keys.

   

5. Click on the Add New Key button.

   

6. Enter a name for the ‘API key name’ and click on Generate Key.

   

7. Click COPY KEY, store the API Key for later user and click on Done.

   

   Note:

   Copy the API key generated and store it for later user as it will not be visible again.

DataBee Configuration

1. Login to the DataBee UI, navigate to Data > Data Feeds and click the Add New Data Feed button.
    

2. Search for BambooHR and click it as shown below.

   
   

3. Click on the API Ingest option for the collection method.
    

4. Enter feed contact information and click Next.
    

5. In the configuration page, confirm the following:

   1. Authorization Method: Basic

   2. API Base URL: this is the base URL that DataBee will interact with.

   3. Username: enter the Username used in the login page of BambooHR.

   4. Password: paste the API KEY generated earlier in the BambooHR console.

   5. Organization Name: enter your BambooHR domain name used initially.

   6. Event types: preselected for all the event types that integration pulls.

    

6. Click Submit.

Troubleshooting Tips

• Ensure the API Key is pasted correctly in the password field. Since you cannot view the API Key after the 1^st time, re-create the Key, paste it on a text editor to ensure no spaces or unexpected characters are included and reconfigure the DataBee feed.

• Ensure the username is pasted correctly on the username column as this feed follows a unique authorization method.
