Note:

Dataminr is a continuously updated cloud service. As for this document preparation, the latest release was in February 2025.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Dataminr UI console with the ClientID and Client Secret.

  • Create a new list of topics to monitor inside Dataminr

  • Access to the DataBee console.

Configuration Overview

  1. Once you receive Dataminr Pulse access, you will also receive the Key Id (Client Id) and Secret Key (Client secret) from the Dataminr team via email. If you do not have these credentials, please contact their support team via their support email.

  2. Add the Dataminr data feed in the DataBee console with the below parameters.

Dataminr Configuration

  1. Once you receive Dataminr Pulse access, you will also receive the Client ID and Client Secret from the Dataminr team via email. If you do not have these credentials, please contact the DataMinr support team.

  2. This account must be initialized and configured via the Web Application.

    Note:

    At least one valid Alert List must be configured on the account before making API calls.

  3. To configure Alert List:

    1. Login to the Dataminr Pulse web app.

    2. Select Manage Lists option available in the settings icon as dropdown menu located on the top-right corner of the web app.
       

    3. In the “Lists” page, traverse to Topics tab and you can Edit/Delete existing lists of topics or create a new list by clicking on the NEW LIST button.
       

    4. Clicking NEW LIST will open a dialog box.

      1. Provide an appropriate ‘Name’ for the new list and click Next.

    5. Under the Topics tab, select the categories of alerts you wish to receive.


    6. Under Assets or Area tab select assets to monitor events happening nearby.


    7. The configuration in your associated Dataminr account will ultimately dictate the alerts you receive via API under Priority tab.
       

    8. Under the Delivery tab, set alert delivery preferences and after that click on the Save button to complete the List creation process.
       

Databee Configuration

  1. Login to the DataBee UI, navigate to Data > Data Feeds and click the Add New Data Feed button.

  2. Search for the Dataminr and click it as shown below.
     

  3. Click on the API Ingest option for collection method.
     

  4. Enter feed contact information and click Next.
     

  5. In the configuration page, enter the following

    • Authorization Method: Token URL Authentication

    • API Base URL: https://<instance>.dataminr.com

      • Replace <instance> according to your instance URL.

    • Secret Key: paste the Secret Key.

    • Key Id: paste the Key Id.

    • Event Types: preselected for all the event types that integration pulls.

     

  6. Click Submit.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure the token is pasted correctly. Paste it on a text editor to ensure no spaces or unexpected characters are included and reconfigure the DataBee feed.

  • Ensure the Dataminr scopes/permissions are correct.
